user 437 posts 2007-11-06 12:15:16 |
A game from another forum that I'm on. Pretty much just guess who will be the next to post. A welcome addition to it is also the posting of fun facts (FF) with each post so we got to knwo the other forumers that bit better. So, I'll guess Darcey next. FF: I was a black belt in karate until I went to University. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-06 12:33:57 |
A pity. You guessed wrongly. Well, it's likely Darcey will be at school now, so I'm guessing... Delta again? FF: I'm left-handed. |
user 456 posts 2007-11-06 18:45:53 |
Wrong! haha! I'm guessing Arancaytar for the next post. FF: I won a school-wide spelling bee and placed 7th in the county bee in 5th grade. |
user 167 posts 2007-11-06 21:21:03 |
Wrong. I guess Anarchronism FF: I'm about to cheat! |
user 167 posts 2007-11-06 21:21:26 |
Right! I guess the_boy FF: I just cheated! |
user 437 posts 2007-11-07 01:20:38 |
Wrong, Woktiny? FF: I gave blood today |
user 68 posts 2007-11-07 01:43:16 |
Incorrect! I guess Darcey FF: I spend more money each month on books than I do on gasoline. |
administrator 467 posts 2007-11-07 03:28:06 |
Coooorrect! I guess Arancaytar, even though he's probably asleep. FF: I write a webcomic! You guys should totally check it out. |
user 347 posts 2007-11-07 13:47:49 |
nope. but Aran's a good guess, since he's definitely challenging you for the highest post count. Fun Fact: I have a dog named "Col. Arthur Hornsby Moore". He doesn't realize that's his full name, though. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-08 11:48:22 |
So sorry for the bad timing, Darcey! =) FF: I once archived a forum with three years worth of posts without admin access - in a day. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-08 11:48:57 |
Gah! I forgot the guess. rtemp. |
user 456 posts 2007-11-08 18:12:12 |
I guess I'll make you correct. I'm guessing Darcey. FF: I have a cockatiel with no name. We just call him "the bird." I sometimes call him Birdy-boy, Birdo, or Chirp-chirp. |
user 326 posts 2007-11-08 20:11:02 |
I'll guess WokTiny. FF: I'm about to post again |
user 326 posts 2007-11-08 20:11:21 |
Hey, WokTiny was right! FF: it's not against the rules |
user 326 posts 2007-11-08 20:14:08 |
ok, seriously, I guess Anarchronism FF: I just noticed (late) that Anarchronism already pulled this prank, but thought it was cheating, while I noticed it was not specified in the rules, and thus I have the most verbose FF. |
user 437 posts 2007-11-09 03:43:06 |
I guess Darcey again. FF: Since I made the thread, new rule, you can't post after yourself :P FF2: I fall asleep listening to music |
administrator 467 posts 2007-11-09 03:46:29 |
Right! I guess eitje. FF: In Soviet Russia, music listens to /you/! |
user 347 posts 2007-11-09 13:33:13 |
good guess! the camera you had installed is starting to work, eh? FF: I once nearly died in a car accident; there was opera playing on the radio, and it was raining. I can no longer listen to opera while driving. I think the all-seeing LeifKB will be the next to post. |
user 347 posts 2007-11-09 13:34:17 |
(this one doesn't count: in the end, no one was harmed, not even the car. it's definitely a story for another time. hmm...) |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-09 18:11:13 |
I believe it will be Darcey. FF: My appendicitis was diagnosed late and I came within about two days of extinction when I was six. |
user 326 posts 2007-11-10 04:18:25 |
I almost felt like I shouldn't, so I wouldn't rob you of the chance to win, but once I posted to say that, I robbed you of the win. I'm guessing Darcey -- she's got to come back eventually. FF: I also have a web comic, but feel like telling you where it is would be a shameless plug. |
administrator 467 posts 2007-11-10 04:20:14 |
WokTiny is right! I guess Delta. FF: WokTiny's comic is here and is very good. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-10 17:35:03 |
Nah, it's me again. FF: I have just passed a nicely round number. |
administrator 467 posts 2007-11-10 18:43:39 |
Aran didn't guess! I guess Aran. FF: It's not a cool postcount unless it's a square. |
user 456 posts 2007-11-11 03:27:20 |
I guess eitje. FF: I've been spending too much time playing point-and-click adventure games lately. (You fight like a dairy farmer.) |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-11 10:27:32 |
Darcey! I hate making you guess wrong all the time. =( Darcey again? |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-11 10:30:18 |
(Wait, FF: I regularly pile raw garlic onto a piece of toast.) |
user 437 posts 2007-11-11 17:56:22 |
I'll guess Darcey FF: I'm currently nocturnal |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-12 11:05:22 |
We appear to be Waiting For Darcey. :P FF: My sleep time goes from around 0400 to around 1000, so I'm at least semi-nocturnal. |
user 437 posts 2007-11-12 14:45:37 |
rtemp? FF: Only three of my possessions have names. Even though none of you will be interested, my wii is called Cain, my laptop Delta and my iPod Zen. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-12 15:29:55 |
That's three times I've foiled you! FF: I heart Drupal. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-12 15:30:11 |
(Next: Delta) |
user 456 posts 2007-11-12 16:21:33 |
Nope. I guess Delta. FF: For my various electronics, I use a naming structure ripped from Spaceballs. (i.e. Mr. Lappy [laptop], Mr. Nano [iPod nano], Mr. Flashy [flash drive], etc.) |
administrator 467 posts 2007-11-12 20:02:57 |
Nope! 'Tis me. I guess Delta. He's got to post at some point. XD FF: All my electronics are named after Star Trek characters. Old desktop - Data Old camera - Lore (it had a red lense which looked more like HAL than Lore, but oh well) Old MP3 player - B4 (it was primitive) New camera - Lal (because I love her) New MP3 player - never named it; I should do that o.O Laptop I used for a month - The Traveler (self-explanatory) My own laptop - Q (because it's awesome) |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-12 21:24:44 |
Aw, this time you'd have been right to guess me. Darcey again? FF: Following the trend, here are the names of various computers I've used (I've never named anything except computers). - Laptop: Starbright. No real explanation, except that a few years ago when I was dreaming of a futuristic secret society with the latest in high-tech gadgetry, this would be the name of the standard issue secret agent laptop. - The old desktop I used before then: Ball Lightning. - The truly ancient laptop whose screen was broken, which we used as a desktop: The Raven. (Though admittedly not after the poem...) - The antediluvian IBM 386-something on which I had my First Online Experience (with Netscape Navigator 4!) was called the Elephant, for reasons which would be obvious if you had seen its enormous grey bulk of a tower case. (It was named by my dad, though). |
user 437 posts 2007-11-13 06:23:23 |
I'll guess Darcey as well. FF: I just remembered, I forgot my USB stick which is called Alpha. Nothing else I have owned has ever been named (bar teddy bears when I was ye high) and all bar the iPod were named sometime after getting them. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-13 06:29:42 |
Darcey yet again! FF: With this post, I surpass Darcey's post count and become unchallenged top-spammer of the forum. Woot! =D |
user 437 posts 2007-11-13 16:41:43 |
Wrong, I guess WokTiny. FF: I just woke up and it's already night :( |
user 167 posts 2007-11-13 18:09:46 |
Wrong. I guess Bill Nye FF: I skipped all my classes today. |
user 326 posts 2007-11-13 19:06:00 |
Off By One, Delta. Does this forum have a Bill Nye, Anarchronism? I guess Arancaytar, keep that post-count up! FF: I just checked my comic's site stats, half of every request is for the rss feed. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-13 22:44:34 |
You are quite correct. WokTiny? FF: Does this work? *abuses admin powArZ* Yes. Also this totally doesn't count as me being the next poster. -Darcey Fwee, Darcey was in my post! =D Also I really like these shades of blue, both of them. Interestingly the digits add up to the same number. Yeah, I use just a shade less green, and exactly as much more red. =) |
user 2 posts 2007-11-13 23:19:51 |
Being almost totally unknown, I can make ANYONE wrong! I guess Anarchronism, because it seemed like a good idea at the time. FF: I cannot pronounce the word 'statistics' properly. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-14 01:28:54 |
Too bad. Darcey? FF: I once spent twenty-four consecutive hours at a computer because I forgot to sleep or eat. It was not a pleasant experience, and I finally began to take those stories about Koreans dying during MMORPG sessions seriously. |
administrator 467 posts 2007-11-14 02:47:21 |
Indeed. I guess Aran again! FF: 'Dour' is a hell of awesome word. |
user 456 posts 2007-11-14 03:05:14 |
Nope. Um... WokTiny FF: the power of 7^2 posts compels you! |
user 326 posts 2007-11-14 03:49:42 |
well, I was going to go to bed, but... I guess I can make rtemp right... does that mean I have to guess? I guess rtemp! FF: I'm solar powered, and it's dark out, good night. |
user 456 posts 2007-11-14 04:26:59 |
...and I was going to avoid posting for longer to let the 49 posts sink in, but I guess you can be right. The Magic Meatball is telling me Darcey. (Side note: if you know where I got the idea of the Magic Meatball you just earned +5 awesome points) FF: I spent the better part of an hour on a test problem this morning that was far easier than I originally made it. Grr. |
user 87 posts 2007-11-14 07:05:48 |
Looks like your Magic Meatball is fallible. Stealing your guess of Darcey FF: My laptop is named The Phallosopher's Stone. It is the only posession that I have named. |
administrator 879 posts 2007-11-14 11:08:43 |
It turns out I went to bed, but am now awake. Darcey? FF: naur an edraith ammen! naur dan i ngaurhoth Tolkien certainly knew how to handle phonemes. |
user 347 posts 2007-11-14 13:41:20 |
nope. i'm back! ff: i've stood on pacific & atlantic beaches with less than 24 hours between each event. next: Aran. |
