hi! most forums have a place where people can say hello for the first time. I'm sure you'll think up rules for this later. for now... |
user 347 posts 2007-10-11 21:20:31 |
Here I am! I came over from wetriffs - that was an extremely clever (and hot) marketing maneuver. :) Please add my name to comic #29 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humorism. Thanks. :) |

Well, now that I have significant quantities of readers, I'm no longer updating the list on that comic. =X I should mention that. Of course, you still get A_MILLION. Oh, and by the way I'm Darcey. I found this webcomic through myself and have been reading it avidly since it first arrived on the internet! |
user 2 posts 2007-10-12 00:49:02 |
This will probably be the only time I post. However, I think this comic is pretty awesome so I'd just like to say kudos for making it. I suppose I'll have to add this to the list of comics I check daily =). |

I am known colloquially as 'sin'. I chose the username Mad_Hattress because it fits my personality quite well. I am eccentric and have been quite literally insane in the past. I enjoy the off-the-wall-yet-not-stupid humor available on Decorum, and so have read it quite happily. I found the site through wetriffs, and decided to join up because Darcey mentioned it. *Sweeps off her hat with a flourish and curtsies to the Webmistress and other people* See you around! ~M_H |

I am Marty, also known as Sajuuk. I suppose I'm one of the resident web and linux gurus here (even though my primary OS is still Windows for school related reasons). I found this comic through Darcey, who I know through Dave. I've actually been on these boards for quite some time, but Darcey and Dave have finally managed to ressurect me out of my dead state here. |
administrator 195 posts 2007-10-12 01:44:19 |
I'm Dave, and I'm a good RL friend of Darcey. *waits for the jealous muttering to die down* I am working on becoming a Linux guru, though I have only just started. As to anything else...I can sometimes go absent for a little while from these fora, letting other people start comic discussion threads, until Darcey reminds me I've been neglecting these boards, which is a problem as I am an admin. |
user 3 posts 2007-10-12 01:53:39 |
Rob. Wetriffs.com; Ew, a penguin (@ Dave). What aer the interwebs? |
user 2 posts 2007-10-12 01:58:33 |
Hey guys, I'm DesperatMezures. I'm not emo, the name is a pun on an idea I had for my string quintet. It wasn't accepted very warmly, though, so we decided on the just as punny "String Theory." I are an High School senior, and I found this comic from xkcd way before Darcey threw up the wetriffs pic. I only just decided to join today because the forums are actually kinda populous these days. I run Linux, specifically Ubuntu Feisty, though I do keep an XP partition around to sync my zune to something. I'm considering switching to a more open music player, but I adore the zune's interface and ability to not get pwned by scratching. |

I'm the resident quantum physicist, Justin, who also knows Darcey in real life. I am also an actual Linux guru and functional programming advocate. Darcey's quite the brilliant and cute girl, isn't she? Welcome everyone to the very strange and wonderful world inside her head! |
administrator 467 posts 2007-10-12 02:04:21 |
All of these people are in the world inside my head, you say? This could be an explanation for the voices! |
user 4 posts 2007-10-12 03:17:22 |
Hello. Yea... wetriffs.... The comic is amazing, its like I get double the xkcd (believe me that is the highest degree of compliment) but of course different. Weird thing is I actually live fairly close to Darcey- its amazing to think that people on the internet actually exist! Oh, and since there has already been linux bashing I will stand in solidarity with my fellow "penguins" and will offer any help that is needed, though I am almost a newb myself. |
user 19 posts 2007-10-12 03:57:51 |
Here from Fleen. 2 + 2 = 5 made my day |
user 2 posts 2007-10-12 09:31:08 |
Wetriffs. Awesome comic. |
user 3 posts 2007-10-12 11:27:18 |
Also from wetriffs. loved it. |
user 31 posts 2007-10-12 13:27:15 |
Ah, it looks like I'm in the good company of wetriffs fans. The comic that caught my attention was the marine life simulation one. Are they still using that? (it's been a few years since I took AP CS) I read all your comics already, make more, plz. XD |
administrator 195 posts 2007-10-12 13:39:51 |
They stopped using the Marine Biology case study this year. The new one apparently is bugs in grass... |
user 31 posts 2007-10-12 14:27:08 |
I think it's funny 'cause I was at my 'rents house a few days ago and found the manual that went with the Case Study in my room in a box of old papers. My teacher printed them out for us, slapped a cover on them and bound them up all nice and pretty. |
user 71 posts 2007-10-12 15:34:05 |
Hi, from wetriffs.com (I think I can hear Joanna) Also, I'm slightly disturbed that 'yes please' is one of the options for sex. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!! No, but seriously, I should have lost 10 points for that :D |
user 23 posts 2007-10-12 16:37:33 |
Salvete, I'm also from wetriffs (Which is really cool, largely because of all the links). I'm a fervent xkcd fan, and discovering Decorum kind of made my day yesterday. I'd probably not describe myself as a linux guru, but I can get around. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn, but obviously about to upgrade to Gusty Gibbon. I've also been toying around with the idea of installing Debian, not for any particular reason. Oh, and a bootable flash drive would be fun... Anyway, I like the webcomic alot, fora are interesting *Goes off to read the rest of the comics). |
user 23 posts 2007-10-12 16:39:04 |
Sorry for the double post (I don't care what you say, edit is nice), but I just discovered the coolest thing: "ID: 42". Take that, bitches! :) |
user 1 posts 2007-10-12 19:45:51 |
Hullo! No, I didn't come from wetriffs.com (although I did see the pic ;-), but I've actually been reading the comic for about a month or so already, and only now decided to register. I'm quite sure I found this comic through xkcd's forum... I'm a 20-something male from Finland, but I'm not going to describe myself any further than that, because words simply fail me... :D Cheers for the great comic, and I really love the colour scheme of this site :) |
administrator 467 posts 2007-10-12 19:50:11 |
Yay, my fora have people! Yay, people like my bikini pictures! Yay, people use Latin greetings! Yay, my colour scheme is appreciated! |
user 347 posts 2007-10-13 00:18:33 |
unless, of course, we're all in your head. |
user 35 posts 2007-10-13 06:53:36 |
Hi. I join the hordes coming from xkcd readership via wetriffs. This may be the first webcomic I've read end-to-end in one sitting. Almost every one earned at least a smirk. And, if we're all in your head, please, please don't use the q-tips on us ( http://qdb.us/77685 ). |
user 71 posts 2007-10-13 10:03:56 |
Yay, my fora have people! Yay, people like my bikini pictures! Yay, people use Latin greetings! Yay, my colour scheme is appreciated! And you're 17. Are they going to arrest me? |
user 15 posts 2007-10-13 13:33:17 |
Yay, my fora have people! Yay, people like my bikini pictures! Yay, people use Latin greetings! Yay, my colour scheme is appreciated! I think she's trying to get the biggest sting ever. She's up to 53 now. |

Hello. *disappears in mystery* |
user 18 posts 2007-10-13 20:09:41 |
Yes, I'm also from xkcd via wetriffs, No, I also didn't know the hot bikini girl was 17. That's okay, it was still worth it, just as long as someone would be kind enough to postal mail future Decorum comics to my jail cell. Thanks a bunch. |
administrator 467 posts 2007-10-13 21:11:23 |
There was nothing illegal (at least in the US where I live) about those photos. It's only child porn if it's fully naked, I've been told. Unless, of course, people have been lying to me! In which case, sorry 'bout that. =X |
user 19 posts 2007-10-13 21:34:11 |
Hi, also from wetriffs, and young enough to appreciate Darcey in all her glory without feeling guilty XD. RL I'm a 17 year old high school senior wishing I had taken computer science (reading XKCD wouldn't leave me so reliant on Wikipedia) instead of the IB liberal arts bullshit that is taking all my time right now >:( . |
user 2 posts 2007-10-13 21:38:35 |
'lo. Travis, mathematics and cs major, nineteen, etc. Wetriffs brought me here as well. With the relief from rule 34 being upheld, I checked out the links and decided this comic was cool enough to hang around for :}. And she's quite right about the legality of the picture of her, but be careful, I still think it's looked down upon to see someone underage in even partial nudity unless you're a school teacher or a congressman. |
user 1 posts 2007-10-13 22:37:53 |
Hey, I'm Alex. Found this comic through wetriffs aswell. Read it straight through in one sitting instead of studying Thermodynamics! Good stuff! Added it to my list of frequently read comics. Keep up the good work! |
user 3 posts 2007-10-13 23:03:14 |
PS: I'm also 17-18 age bracket. I thinks Darc has a target audience! |

Robbeh, your avatar is not a meme! |
user 71 posts 2007-10-13 23:51:14 |
There was nothing illegal (at least in the US where I live) about those photos. It's only child porn if it's fully naked, I've been told. Unless, of course, people have been lying to me! In which case, sorry 'bout that. =X It was more awesome than illegal. |
user 347 posts 2007-10-14 00:32:53 |
if a girl in a bathing suit is illegal, the webshots, myspace, photobucket, and all equivalent sites are screwed. i stand by my original assertion: clever marketing. |

I found Wetriffs through this comic! And OMG. I mean, wowza. |
user 2 posts 2007-10-14 07:38:07 |
I too found this comic through XKCD/Wetriffs! 22/M/CanadianCompScientist. |
user 347 posts 2007-10-14 07:39:37 |
indeed. totally FLCL-style. |
user 5 posts 2007-10-14 09:50:24 |
Yeah, another user you got from wetriffs. Your comics are great. |
user 87 posts 2007-10-14 09:56:11 |
I found this through someone posting a link on a forum entirely unrelated to wetriffs or XKCD. I do read XKCD, though, and I've been to its fora. I'm pretty sure I've seen some of Darcey's posts on said fora, in fact. Also, 17-year old here (seems like that's the most common age currently). |
user 3 posts 2007-10-14 11:25:22 |
Leif, LOL WUT! Milhouse is always a meme. ;) |
user 167 posts 2007-10-14 16:11:23 |
Sup, like most others I got here from wetriffs. Decided to make an account because Darcey is so happy whenever the registration count goes up. 19/M/Canada. Luckily I haven't died here yet. |
user 10 posts 2007-10-14 17:07:57 |
I found this website by brute-forcing urls. I started, at random, on www.decorumcomicr.com, and incremented. I'm a 19 year old Software Engineering major at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In the last 6 weeks, I've written a full gui calendar application, and I miss the Marine Biology Case Study something fierce. We wrote death fish and jesus fish (killing and resurrecting, respectively). Fun times. Anyways, I love the comic, and have recommended DC to my internet nerd friends. Which is a problem, because "DC" is the acronym I usually use to refer to Dresden Codak, an equally nerdy (in a more philosophy/literature way) and very arty comic. Anyways, again, I may or may not be hanging out in the forums. I got burnt out with foruming when I helped run a debate site for ~3 years. I will, nonetheless, read the comics as long as they maintain their current level of awesomeness. |
user 10 posts 2007-10-14 17:46:11 |
Oh, and I'm a Mac user, but I'll stand in solidarity with any fully or partially posix systems. |
user 19 posts 2007-10-15 03:08:12 |
I figure I should add, 18/M/Poli-Sci major in New Orleans but from New Mexico |
user 2 posts 2007-10-15 11:20:44 |
wetriffs. Wonderful comic. Amusing. I need amusing, so make more. :) <3 |
user 6 posts 2007-10-15 13:03:06 |
Wetriffs, too. Then read through half the Decorum archive, which saved an otherwise entirely depressing day :) I'm a 22 year old cognitive science and computational linguistics student (don't miss the easy target) from Germany. |
user 3 posts 2007-10-15 20:53:44 |
Salvete, amici! I'm just a 19 year old guy in florida who loves comics, you know? I'm in the process of drawing my own to start up a website in the next month or two, because Darcey has convinced me to. So rejoice! the world of webcomics grows! |
